APAH Charity Shop in Pilar de la Horadada

Most of our funds are raised through donations, fund raising events, memberships and our stall at the Sunday market in Campoverde. However, this just covers the day-to-day running costs of the kennels (our vets bills alone are around €2,000-€3,000 a month).

We desperately needed to find a way to increase our income if we were ever to be in with a chance of securing our own premises, as the private sanctuary we are currently using was only ever meant to be temporary and the area it is in is to be urbanised.*

During 2005, we therefore began looking for a suitable shop to rent. We managed to find premises on Calle José Sánchez, Pilar De La Horarada (see map on the Find Us page) and in November 2005 the first ever charity shop opened in this area. The Mayor came to the official opening and we all felt very proud!

The shop has proved to be very popular with all nationalities. So much so, that we have gone from opening only in the mornings to the evenings too.

We sell all manner of donated items, including books, clothes, bric-a-brac, furniture etc. and we are always happy to receive unwanted items (in good/working condition) to sell in our shop. So if you have any books, clothes, toys, items of (small) furniture, ornaments, household items etc. please, don't throw them away, bring them along to our shop so that we may sell them to raise additional funds.

You can also drop off dog/cat food, blankets, pet toys etc. all of which will be appreciated by the cats and dogs we are currently looking after.

Everybody that helps in the shop is a volunteer and they are kept very busy collecting, sorting, pricing and eventually selling all the goods donated to us. Without them, we would not have been able to increase our income so greatly.

See our Find Us page for current opening hours and directions.

For any further information and for deliveries or collections, please call (0034) 616210850.
